Biostream BP80 (8″) Fish Pump

Q: How many fish will the BP80 move in an hour?

Up to 24 tonnes per hour through its 8″ (200 mm) bore, though the rate you actually achieve depends on species, fish size, pipe run and head.

Q: What size fish will it pass?

The BP80 is rated to a maximum average fish size of 1.5 kg.

Q: How high can it lift?

Up to 9 m of pumping head on the standard 15 hp BP80, or 11 m on the 20 hp BP80-S.

Q: How do I choose between the BP80 and the sizes either side of it?

Compare bore, fish size and tonnage together — the BP60 is 6″ bore, 600 g fish and 16 t/hr, the BP80 is 8″ bore, 1.5 kg fish and 24 t/hr, and the BP100 is 10″ bore, 2.7 kg fish and 55 t/hr.

Q: What jobs is the BP80 used for?

Bathing, delousing, transferring, grading and harvesting grow-out fish in RAS, live holding and live transport work.

Q: How much water and air does the pump need?

Water and air demand figures are not published for the BP80, so ask Fresh By Design to confirm the service requirements for your layout before you design the services.

Q: How do I get a price?

Request a quote with the tonnage you need to move per hour, your maximum average fish size and the vertical head from water level to discharge, and we’ll confirm the right BP model and lead time.
