Copepods need one large stable volume, so this skid is a single 420 L vessel on a 450 L sump; the rotifer skid uses three 17 L vessels and the artemia skid four 18.5 L vessels.

Copepods are small enough for marine larvae that cannot yet take rotifers or artemia, which makes them a crucial first live feed for some species.

Culture is transferred from the vessel to the sump through one camlock valve, then collected or drained from the sump through the second.
