How many diffusers do I need?
Add up the LPM rating of each diffuser, or divide your total required air flow by the rating of the model you choose — 11 LPM for the 30 cm, 22 LPM for the 60 cm, or 35 LPM for either 30 cm ring.
What bubble size do they produce?
Colorite does not publish a bubble diameter for Aero-Tube — if you need a stated sub-0.5 mm microbubble, look at Bubbletech Oxyprax or Airprax instead.
What blower pressure do I need?
The tubing runs at 1 PSI, plus enough pressure to overcome the water depth the diffuser sits at, so a low-pressure regenerative blower is sufficient.
Which barb size should I choose?
The 30 cm straight uses a 6 mm barb, the 60 cm straight and the 30 cm ring use 13 mm, and the ring is also available with two 6 mm barbs.
How do I clean them?
Lift the diffuser and flush it through with air or water to clear debris — there are no consumable membranes or elements to replace.
What is the difference between Aero-Tube, the Aero-Tube Diffuser and the Diffuser Grid?
Aero-Tube is bulk tubing by the metre, the Aero-Tube Diffuser is a short pre-made weighted length with a barb fitting, and the Diffuser Grid is a pre-assembled HDPE grid holding 20 m of tube on a 50 mm slip connection.
Do they need weighting?
No — each diffuser is weighted with stainless steel rod so it sits flat on the tank or pond floor.
