This project was a renovation and upgrade of an unused former nursery for King Reef Seafoods at Cowley, Queensland. The facility overhaul included a Faivre drum filter, MBBR, AST bead filter, RK2 freshwater fractionator and ozone generator, PCI VSA oxygen generator, Grundfos pumps and Pentair UV sterilisers. The system is controlled and monitored using the OxyGuard Pacific, with real time monitoring and alarming of dissolved oxygen in every tank and of pH, ORP and conductivity in the sump. An Aqua-life fish pump and Faivre grader and counters make up the fish handling and grading system. The system is designed for on-growing of fry to supplement existing production. It will also improve the quality and quantity of fingerlings supplied to their existing farm and ensure continuity of supply throughout the year.
The facility was an unused former nursery that had to be renovated and upgraded rather than built new.
The overhaul fitted out the nursery as a recirculating system with a Faivre drum filter, MBBR, AST bead filter, RK2 freshwater fractionator with ozone generator, PCI VSA oxygen generator, Grundfos pumps and Pentair UV sterilisers. Control and monitoring is via OxyGuard Pacific, with real time monitoring and alarming of dissolved oxygen in every tank plus pH, ORP and conductivity in the sump. Fish handling and grading uses an Aqua-life fish pump with a Faivre grader and counters.
