Point Four RIU3 Monitor & Controller

The Point Four RIU3 is a field-mounted transmitter and controller for continuous water quality monitoring, running stand-alone or daisy-chained into networks of up to 99 units. Each unit takes one probe — dissolved oxygen, temperature, CO₂, pH, ORP or salinity — and offers two SPDT 10 A relays across up to six control blocks for local control, alarms or PID. Probes calibrate tank-side from the weatherproof keypad.

Product Information

Key Features

  • Field-mounted transmitter and controller for continuous monitoring and control of water quality
  • Runs stand-alone or daisy-chained into a multi-linked network of up to 99 units, with unlimited networks
  • Accepts 4–20 mA, 0–5 mV and Modbus RS485 sensor inputs
  • Two SPDT 10 A relay outputs, configurable across up to six control blocks for local control, alarms or PID
  • Tank-side probe calibration from a weatherproof 4-button keypad — one operator, at the probe
  • Available with dissolved oxygen (galvanic or optical), temperature, CO₂, pH, ORP or salinity probes, or without a probe
  • Works with the Point Four LC Touch Controller and the Windows-based Point Four Sync HMI software
  • Sizing: one RIU3 takes one probe and offers two relay outputs, so allow a unit per measurement point and daisy-chain them — up to 99 units per network

Frequently Asked Questions

How many sensor inputs and control outputs does one RIU3 have?
One probe input per unit, accepting 4–20 mA, 0–5 mV or Modbus RS485, and two SPDT 10 A relay outputs configurable across up to six control blocks.
Which water quality parameters can it monitor?
Dissolved oxygen by galvanic or optical probe, temperature, CO₂, pH, ORP and salinity, depending on which probe option is fitted.
What can it actually control?
Anything the two 10 A relays can switch — the RIU3-Comm-FMsol-PVC package, for example, drives a solenoid valve with a 15 LPM flow meter for oxygen injection. The same relays run alarm conditions and PID loops.
How do I size a system with several measurement points?
One RIU3 takes one probe, so allow a unit per measurement point and daisy-chain them: up to 99 units on a multi-linked network, and you can run as many networks as you need.
Can I calibrate the probe without pulling it out?
Yes — tank-side calibration is done at the probe from the weatherproof 4-button keypad, by a single operator.
How is the data collected and displayed?
Through the RIU3 itself, a Point Four LC Touch Controller, or the Windows-based Point Four Sync HMI software.
Does it reduce cabling?
Yes — only one cable carries the whole system’s data back to the main controller, instead of separate probe and data runs from every device.
