Size on treated flow rate, not tank volume — pick the model whose flow band covers your recirculation flow, then check the inlet and outlet sizes match your pipework.

Q: What is the difference between a radial flow settler and a swirl separator?

Both are passive gravity separators, but the radial flow settler spreads flow across a wide vessel for a low upflow velocity, while the swirl separator uses a circular flow path in a much smaller vessel at lower flows.

Q: What solids will it remove?

It removes settleable solids such as uneaten feed and faeces; fine suspended solids need a drum filter or media filter downstream.

Q: Does it need power to run?

No — separation is by gravity, so you only need enough head to pass the flow through the vessel.

Q: How are the collected solids removed?

The tapered conical base concentrates settled solids so they can be drained off from the bottom of the vessel.

Q: What is it made from?

Moulded polypropylene (PP), built to withstand the demands of aquaculture and aquaponics systems.
