Faivre Drum Filters

Faivre’s drum filters are the workhorses of land-based aquaculture and aquaponics. Built in France and used in hatcheries, RAS, and broodstock systems worldwide, every Faivre drum filter shares the same self-cleaning drum design — what changes between series is throughput.

Choose your Series below to match your flow rate. We’ll quote pricing, tank or frame configuration (SS 304L, SS 2205, AISI 316L, or HDPE), mesh size (15 µm to 500 µm), and motor voltage to suit your site.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the self-cleaning work?
A level sensor detects head loss across the screen and triggers a short backwash spray cycle automatically — no daily handling and no consumables.
Which drum material do I need for my water?
AISI 304L for fresh water, AISI 316L for cold seawater, or duplex SS 2205 for warm seawater and aggressive conditions.
What mesh sizes are available?
Standard stainless screens are 15, 26, 36, 63 and 80 microns, with nylon screens available up to 500 µm.
Can the drum be installed in an existing tank or channel?
Yes — frame-only and frame-with-pipe-inlet configurations drop into existing concrete or HDPE tanks, and the 200 Series is designed for a 1.2–1.45 m deep concrete channel.
What are spider screens?
A reinforced screen option for the 80–200 Series with a second 300-micron nylon mesh layer and updated seals — screen plus new tensioner costs less than a single standard plate.
Are spare parts stocked in Australia?
Yes — Fresh By Design keeps replacement plates, screens, solenoids, spray bars and gear motors on the shelf, and screens are interchangeable across the range.
How do I get a price?
Request a quote with your design flow, water source (fresh, brackish or sea) and target mesh — we’ll come back with the right Series, configuration and lead time.
