Use the duty point method: total the air your diffusers need, work out the pressure they need it at, then pick the model whose air flow at that pressure meets the demand with a small margin in hand.

Allow about 10 kPa (100 mbar) for every metre of water above the diffuser, then add pipework friction and diffuser back pressure, which together typically add another 5 to 15 kPa.

A side channel blower delivers less air as back pressure rises, so a flow figure only means something alongside the pressure or depth it was measured at.

Yes – an inlet air filter protects the impeller from dust and debris and a pressure relief valve prevents damage if a line blocks, and the 5 year warranty depends on both being fitted.

ESAM units are a low-noise design but they still transfer heat into the air stream, so mount them in a ventilated, weather-protected spot and keep discharge pipework clear of anything heat-sensitive.

Very little beyond keeping the inlet filter clean and the cooling airway clear, provided installation is done by a qualified technician.
