How many diffusers do I need?
Divide your total air flow in LPM by the optimal per-diffuser rate – 70 LPM for the KAD250 or 150 LPM for the KAD320 – and round up.
What pressure is required to run it?
It is a low-pressure diffuser fed by a blower, so the supply needs to overcome the water depth above the disc plus the membrane’s own resistance.
Does it suit pure oxygen or air service?
It is rated in air flow for blower-fed aeration duty; for pure oxygen use a fine-pore ceramic diffuser instead, which makes far smaller bubbles.
How does a membrane disc compare with a ceramic diffuser?
Membrane discs move much more gas per unit at low pressure but make 1 to 3 mm bubbles, while ceramic diffusers make 100 to 400 micron bubbles for much higher transfer efficiency.
How do I clean it?
EPDM membranes foul with calcium scale and biofilm over time – hose off the surface, and soak in a dilute acid bath if scale has hardened, then rinse before refitting.
Can it be used in salt water?
Yes – the high-grade EPDM membrane is suited to both fresh and salt water.
What size connection does it use?
